Marius Silvasan

Marius is a successful entrepreneur and investor with more than 20 years experience in structured finance, syndication and mergers and acquisitions. Marius founded, bought and sold companies in various industries. Prior to Global, Marius was CEO and Director of ONE Bio, Corp and a founder of Tele Plus World Corp. Marius provides strategic direction to Global Merchant Fund, is focused on expanding the company’s  product offering and footprint, pursue strategic acquisitions and expand syndication capabilities. Marius led the acquisition of Gerber Finance, based out of NY, and Paragon Financial Group, based out of Fort Lauderdale. Marius holds a BBA and an MBA from HEC University in Montreal.

Cris Neely

Chief Financial Officer


Cris is a successful senior-level financial executive having held senior level financial, operating, general management, and consulting positions including CFO of ONE Bio, Corp and Tele Plus World, Corp, and CFO of Siemans Enterprise Networks. He was also an executive with ROLM, IBM and Cisco during his career. He has a proven track record in financial reporting, , process improvements, align critical resources, reduce expenses, increase margins, and turn under-performing business units into profitable organizations. He holds a BA Finance degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and an MBA from Amberton University, Dallas.

Steve McDonald



Steve is an experienced finance executive having started his finance career in 2006 in a specialty finance provider. Prior to this, Steve served as a senior executive for one of the largest telecom and broadcast infrastructure providers in North America. Since then, Steve has been instrumental in the growth and expansion of Global Merchant Fund. He has facilitated thousands of financial transactions involving businesses on five different continents and had direct involvement in the company’s acquisition of Gerber Finance and Paragon Financial Group. Steve has more than 40 years of executive management experience in asset allocation, global management, cross border financing and international trade.  Steve has served as a panel contributor to both the Commercial Finance Association and the International Factoring Association.

Tony Howard

Chief Credit Officer


Tony is an experienced senior credit officer with more than 20 years of international finance experience in corporate and investment banking and asset-based lending. Tony directs the credit professionals of Global Merchant Fund and is responsible for portfolio and underwriting functions.  Additionally, he is an experienced turnaround and restructuring practitioner in the middle market.  He was formerly Managing Director of CBIZ, a Managing Director at PWC, and a Director with KPMG’s Corporate Finance Group in Atlanta. Most recently he has conducted a variety of board level finance, credit and risk reviews and assignments targeting growth and corporate renewal across a broad spectrum of companies, working closely with many major banking and commercial finance companies in the US and Canada. He is a graduate of University of Kentucky.

Bruce Sim

Senior Vice President, Head Acquisitions


Bruce Sim has more than three decades of experience in commercial finance, banking, and capital markets. Prior to joining Global Merchant Fund, Bruce served as Senior Director of Business Development at ExWorks Capital, and Senior Managing Director for Glass Ratner Advisory & Capital Group. His banking experience includes executive roles as Head of Capital Markets and Wealth Management at RBC (Caribbean) Ltd, a subsidiary of Royal Bank of Canada, Head of Wells Fargo Global Banking in Miami; and Southeast Region Manager for asset-based lending at Wells Fargo.  Bruce has Bachelor of Science (Mathematics) from the University of Toronto and an MBA from York University in Canada.
